I hold a place close to my heart for a good cafe sketch, it might be my favorite kind of art. There is something about capturing a personality when you have no idea how long they will stay in one place (or even if they will stay in the cafe at all), that makes them a special animal.

This drawing is an exceptional example of a good impromptu sketch. You can till that it was done pretty quickly, but despite that the anatomy is very accurate.

I also really appreciate the attention that you gave to the clothes, many artists slight the attention to folds in a quick sketch because they are focusing on the person, but the clothes are as much of the pose as anything else is. The fact that you drew in the checkered pattern and the cross-hatched shading on the hat is what in my mind makes this drawing great.
